FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 14; 3PM ET: POVERTY
The Economic Mobility Project's director, John E. Morton, will be participating in what promises to be an insightful conversation on how the new presidential administration and the current economic situation may impact the realm of poverty.
"The current economic crisis is sure to increase the U.S. poverty rate, making strategic grant-making even more important. This call will examine the President-Elect's proposed changes in the tax code and other social support programs and their implications for the work of philanthropists' efforts to reduce the strain on working and poor families."
This event is co-sponsored by Grantmakers for Children, Youth & Families.
Other speakers at the event will be: Renee Carl, Senior Program Manager, Grantmakers for Children, Youth & Families; Robert Greenstein, Executive Director, Center on Budget and Policy Priorities; Don Chen, Program Officer, The Ford Foundation; Sharon Parrott, Director of the Welfare Reform and Income Support Division, Center on Budget and Policy Priorities; and Hilary Cherner, Associate Director, Arabella Advisors (moderator).
Please RSVP to this event by November 7 and indicate that you'd like to participate in the Poverty Teleconference.
